Renowned Parisian Venue Rex Club to Temporarily Close for Renovation

Paris’ renowned venue, Rex Club, has announced its temporary closure for renovation until the end of the year, as revealed on their Instagram. Starting from the end of May, the club will undergo extensive renovations to transform its appearance while preserving its DNA. Rex Club aims to reopen by the end of the year, following the completion of the planned renovation work.

In their Instagram post, Rex Club addressed their loyal patrons, sharing the news of the upcoming renovations, which they described as a “badly kept secret.” The club expressed their excitement to commence work on the iconic Parisian venue, starting on May 4. They emphasized that the Rex Club will receive the renovation it truly deserves.

Patrons were informed that they have 14 more evenings to come and celebrate the Rex Club in its current state, with a month of closing events scheduled until May 27. These events will feature performances by renowned artists such as Manami, Raresh, CC:DISCO!, John Talabot, Traumer, GiGi FM, and Chinau.

During the renovations, Rex Club will introduce several new features, including a brand new lighting rig, while maintaining its current d&b soundsystem. The club stated that 2023 will mark the end of one era and the beginning of another.

Victorien Jacquemond, Rex Club’s Communications and Relations Manager, mentioned that the venue’s bar, bathrooms, and dancefloor will undergo renovation but will remain in their current locations due to the club’s listed status.

This year, Rex Club celebrates its 35th anniversary as a central institution for techno in Paris. To commemorate this milestone, the club plans to launch an archival book showcasing photographs, objects, and flyers that reflect its rich history.
