Renowned DJ and producer Paula Temple is ready to turn her career – and her life – around. In an emotional statement on Instagram on November 20, Temple shared her plans to leave the frenetic life of the stage to embrace a new phase, focused exclusively on creating music.
“I want to change pace, get a dog and devote myself completely to music,” she said. After 11 intense years of touring, which she described as “the best years of my life”, Paula has decided it’s time to slow down. She also opened her heart about the emotional impact of recent times, mentioning a “breakdown” she suffered last year and her disconnection from the post-pandemic hard techno scene, now more associated with the universe of influencers.
Despite her farewell, Paula made it clear that her passion for music is as alive as ever: “There’s still so much creativity I want to explore,” she revealed, announcing that she’s ready to evolve and move away from hard techno.
But fans will still have one last chance to see her live. Temple will give ten more outstanding performances before ending her journey on stage. These include a New Year’s Eve show with SNTS at the Free Your Mind Festival in Amsterdam, as well as dates in New York, Chicago and Bogotá.
With gratitude to her team, her audience and the “inspiring scene” that welcomed her, Paula Temple ends this cycle with class, leaving an indelible mark on electronic music – and, of course, leaving everyone looking forward to what’s to come in her new creative phase.
