Join the Heartfelt Rhythm of Doe Dance: Uniting Music Legends for a Noble Cause!

Doe Dance is a Brazilian project conceived by William Schiavon, better known as Ban. The focus of the social project is to use the scene of cultural events such as parties, musical shows, workshops, among others, to raise donations and distribute them to people going through difficulties or institutions that provide services for the good of humanity.

Ban, for those who know him, is a guy many people care about, and his career is part of the foundations of the Brazilian electronic scene. What’s more, the respect he has earned over almost three decades in the music business means that the big names in the scene always answer his calls.

That’s why names like Carola, Victor Ruiz, Bruno Furlan, Tropkillaz, DJ Murphy, Eric Jay, Devochka and countless other renowned artists have taken part in actions within the Doe Dance project.

And that, Doe Dance, is where doing good is the commitment!

MORE ABOUT

Doe Dance is a movement linked to music that embraces various causes. Through its partners in the sector and its platform, it develops activities that help others.

Where it comes from…

After a few years of charitable actions carried out under various names, “Doe Dance” came out of nowhere, but with the will to do anything, starting from joining forces to strengthen causes…

Each “cause for good” is a commitment, and has its own particular way of being carried out. Doe Dance is therefore taking advantage of a very important event, World DJ Day, which happens to be related to its ‘comfort zone’, electronic music.

On 9/3/2002, the World DJ Fund and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, the latter an English organization that has been using music to treat adults and children since 1959, created World DJ Day, just one of the many actions they have carried out. This event brings together various charity events around the world.

Although it may seem like a commemorative date, the kind where we give or receive presents, it is… But it’s more than a present for the giver and much more for the receiver: it’s an opportunity! The first World DJ Day charity event raised more than £400,000 for charities and featured DJs such as Pete Tong, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, Seb Fontaine, Carl Cox and others.

Various parties were held in nightclubs with proceeds going to the event, DJs donated their fees, record labels, equipment brands and media supported the cause. Radio 1, one of the participating stations, had the role of closing the event with DJ Tim Westwood, who told listeners to get ready because it was only the first year… and that the date was “definitely a commitment”.

In Brazil, this date took a while to arrive, but every year new initiatives emerge… It doesn’t matter how long it took either, but rather what we can do to increase love for others, the only requirement for those who want to donate and dance with us.

Our first Doe Dance cause was launched on 9/3/17 and ran until 1/4/17: To accomplish something in just one day like World DJ Day would require better planning, more media, more unity and less ego, so as to bring about better results. There will be no shortage of causes (unfortunately), music will not cease to exist, so no matter how many days a year, month or week we manage to do something, the little we achieve can be “a lot” to those who really need it.
