London’s iconic Printworks venue may make a comeback in 2026, despite its recent closure. Broadwick Live, the operators of Printworks, have hinted at the possibility of reopening the club in the future. The venue concluded its final show on May 1, 2023, featuring a surprise headline set by Bicep.
Simeon Aldred, co-owner and head of strategy at Broadwick Live, acknowledged discussions about gentrification surrounding the venue. However, he credited British Land for inviting them to create Printworks, emphasizing that the reopening is not confirmed yet. Although no contracts have been signed, the initial principles for a deal are in place, and planning permission will be sought in the coming weeks.
Broadwick Live has taken an unconventional approach by partnering with developers British Land and AustralianSuper, instead of opposing them. This partnership has brought significant financial investment to Printworks, with approximately £200 million from developers across the UK and additional capital injections from Rockstar Games, the makers of Grand Theft Auto.
