A fire on October 17th has completely destroyed the underground arts and music venue.

Stroomhuis, located in Eindhoven in the southern Netherlands, has been engulfed in flames.

In an Instagram update shared today, the team behind this arts space confirmed that there were no injuries from the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed. With all the instruments, equipment, and creative works severely damaged, the team has initiated a fundraising campaign to help cover the losses.

“We are devastated to witness the culmination of 25 years of creativity and community effort reduced to ashes,” the fundraising description stated. “Many of us have lost everything we’ve created over the past five, ten, or even 35 years.” A spokesperson for Stroomhuis mentioned to Resident Advisor that they are currently in the process of rescheduling all upcoming events.

Founded in 2001 by André Amaro, Stroomhuis was known for its live music performances and exhibitions. In the past year, it also branched out into community art studios and living spaces that were set to launch during Dutch Design Week this month.
